This is a meteorite fragment, 4.5 billion years old, which fell to earth in Lahmada, Sahara Desert, Morocco, North Africa, around 40,000 years ago.
Upon impact the meteorite scattered on the desert floor into small fragments such as these.
It is non-metallic and classified as a Chondrite.
It contains a huge array of minerals, but only a trace of iron-nickel.
This is one of the oldest objects you can own, and a real talking point.
